Eureka! Scientific Discoveries That Shaped Business

– Contributed content –

11 April 2017. Science has altered business technology models in a variety of ways. It’s fascinating how business owners can use scientific research to shape and adjust their business model in ways that encourage growth and more purchases from customers. For instance, research has shown that people find it easier to remember images compared with words. For this reason, business owners should spend more time on their logos compared with the name of their company. This will make the business more memorable. Here are some of the other ways science can shape the business model.

Old tricks

An old trick businesses used in food and drink production is to use addictive substances in products. For instance, in the 1800s beer actually contained salt. This was to ensure that it made people more thirsty and thus in need of another drink. These days there are plenty of products containing ingredients that we just can’t get enough of. It’s a brilliant way to boost sales for products with everything from potato chips to soda drinks.

New tech

New tech is always going to have an impact on marketing, but it’s how that tech is used scientifically that has lead to the greatest advancement. Take VR as an example. VR works because it alters the perspective of the individual so when they turn their head the view shifts in the virtual world. This is what makes it so immersive and why it’s a brilliant tool for marketing. You can read more about this in the infographic below.
