Science Holiday Cheer

Science Business will take a break for the Christmas holiday, and resume posting on Monday 27 December.

To get in the scientific holiday spirit, here’s a video from Darlene Cavalier, founder of ScienceCheerleader.com. Cavalier is a former Philadelphia 76ers cheerleader with a masters degree from University of Pennsylvania, where she studied the role of citizens in science.

One of the goals of Science Cheerleader is to break the stereotype — some may even call it a stigma — of nerdy, geeky scientists as something other than real people. Cavalier has put together a team of other former college and pro sports cheerleaders with degrees in science, math, or engineering to serve as examples of how cool scientists can be.

Enjoy the video and have a great holiday.
