29 July 2017. Implementing new technology today often means taking advantage of opportunities provided by social media. As reported in Science & Enterprise, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration recognized this phenomenon in 2014 when it issued its first guidance on using social media for communications with patients. And in June of this year, FDA sent warning letters to 14 companies selling fraudulent cancer diagnostics and cures over the Internet, including through social media.

The chart shown above, courtesy of Statista, shows how Facebook and its subsidiaries occupy four of the top five social media and messaging services in terms of subscribers.
