3 March 2018. Science and Enterprise reports regularly on wearable devices used for fitness tracking, but also to collect data for research. In addition, we cover new materials and technologies made for wearables, most recently a story about sensors with high flexibility for wearables, and graphene circuits burned into fabrics.

Our friends at Statista provide us with this weekend’s infographic on wearables, a look at the leading vendors of wearable devices, based on data from a new IDC study. The data show Apple taking the lead as the top vendor in 2017 overcoming FitBit’s commanding lead from the previous year. Overall, according to IDC, the global wearables market grew more than 10 percent to 115.4 million units shipped in 2017.
