Infographic – Countries Where Coronavirus Reported

(Statista)

1 Feb. 2020. On Thursday, World Health Organization designated the novel coronavirus outbreak an international health emergency, with cases reported in and threatening more countries. The business data research company Statista posted yesterday a map where coronavirus cases are confirmed, and number of cases as of 30 January, with data provided by Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Systems Science and Engineering.

The map, our infographic this weekend, shows China remains the core of the outbreak, but with 10 or more cases also reported in Thailand, Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore. Thanks to widespread international travel, cases are also appearing in North America and Europe, with six cases in the U.S. and five in France.

But the outbreak is spreading quickly. As of today (1 Feb.), the Johns Hopkins center says more than 12,000 confirmed cases are reported worldwide, with nearly all of those in China, but with 10 or more cases now extending to Australia, South Korea, and Taiwan. Germany and the U.S. each has seven cases and France has six cases.
