Junior Faculty Entrepreneurship Fellowship Grants Open

Library books (timetrax23/Flickr)The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation in Kansas City, Missouri has opened the next round of nominations for the Kauffman Junior Faculty Fellowship (KJFF) in Entrepreneurship Research. Each fellowship awards $40,000 to the fellow’s university to support the recipient’s research for two years.

The foundation plans to award up to seven KJFF grants to junior faculty members in the U.S. whose research has the potential to make significant contributions to the body of entrepreneurship literature. Nominees must be tenured or tenure-track junior faculty members at accredited U.S. institutions who received a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree between 1 January 2007 and 31 December 2010.

The KJFF program was established by the Kauffman Foundation in 2008, and awarded to 10 recipients in the 2009 and 2010 academic years. While the fellowship is open to candidates from any academic discipline, the nominees’ research must address questions of importance to entrepreneurship. Awardees to date have come from the fields of economics, business, history, and management, with four of the 10 recipients also winners of a Kauffman Dissertation Fellowship.

Nominations must be made by colleagues, not by the candidates themselves. The deadline for nominations is 23 January 2012. Nominees then must complete their online applications by 12 March 2012.
