New Service Connects Investigators with Clinical Trial Sponsors

CenterWatch in Boston, Massachusetts today unveiled a new service to help pharmaceutical companies and contract research organizations (CROs) find and engage investigative sites worldwide to conduct phase I through IV clinical trials.

Sponsors of clinical research have become more interested in recruiting investigators from more locations around the world. At the same time, says CenterWatch in its press release, the number of investigative sites conducting clinical research has dropped, as the sites find it more difficult to secure study grants. CenterWatch’s new Grant Notification Service will match clinical research sponsors with active and experienced investigative sites.

The online service provided at the CenterWatch Web site will be free of charge. By the end of September 2010, CenterWatch anticipates some 25,000 active global investigative sites registered on the service. CenterWatch also expects to handle three to five unique requests weekly from sponsor and CRO companies. Each specific request will generate a list of selected investigative sites to be contacted by the sponsor or CRO originating the request.
