Venture Companies Partner With Texas Technology Start-Up Center

Ten venture capital companies are taking part in a program to increase access to funding for start-up companies in the North Texas Enterprise Center (NTEC) in Frisco, near Dallas, Texas.  NTEC is a not-for-profit business accelerator, providing services and support to medical technology and clean technology start-up companies.

One of the purposes of the program is to give north Texas technology entrepreneurs greater access to venture capital (VC) funding. Of the 10 participating VC companies, for example, only two are based in Texas. All of the VC participants, however, have committed to spending at least two days each quarter at NTEC, who will identify and screen companies and coordinate meetings with the investors during their visits.

The participating VC companies are:

  • Arboretum Ventures. Ann Arbor, Michigan
  • Ballast Point Ventures. St. Petersburg, Florida
  • Chrysalis Ventures. Louisville, Kentucky
  • Heron Capital. Indianapolis, Indiana
  • H.I.G. BioVentures. Atlanta, Georgia
  • Noro-Moseley Partners. Atlanta, Georgia
  • Prolog Ventures. St. Louis, Missouri
  • River Cities Capital Funds. Cincinnati, Ohio
  • Santé Ventures. Austin, Texas
  • Sevin Rosen Funds, Dallas, Texas
