8 Mar. 2021. Apple is taking the gaming world seriously, which is why there is a concerted effort to move into the industry at the moment. This doesn’t mean that iOS is the software of choice for gamers – it will be some while before Apple knocks Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo off their respective perches.

Still, there’s no doubt that some features make gaming on Apple devices appealing. The fact that millions of people own a member of the brand’s family is one of them. If you do sample what the company has to offer, you should consider the pitfalls first.

With that in mind, here are four tools Apple fans will require to game effectively.

An iPad

This might seem crazy because Mac has the best gaming features on paper. But, the reality is that they are mediocre compared to their rivals. The iPad, on the other hand, is the number one choice for tablet owners everywhere. Also, Apple is making a push by kitting it out with enhanced gamepad and keyboard support. There’s even talk that Sony’s DualShock 4 controller will work with the latest edition of the iPad in the not-too-distant future. Combine this with the fact that the xCloud will work on Apple’s mobile devices soon and the iPad is the clear winner.

Apple Arcade

It’s worth pointing out that this service costs $5 a month, so it isn’t free. Steam charges, too, but the range of games on offer is far superior. Of course, this fails to recognize the growth of the industry, something the leaders at Apple have been working on with some success. Apple Arcade already has agreements with major developers such as Will Wright, the brain behind The Sims and Final Fantasy. Therefore, gamers can expect more titles to hit the platform soon. When they do, the $5 fee will look a lot more appealing.

Ergonomic equipment

Part of the reason Apple isn’t gamer-friendly is that it’s not designed for gaming. As a result, the gameplay can be clunky, and the graphics less defined. Thankfully, you can improve the situation by purchasing ergonomic equipment. A computer chair is a necessity, but so are an ergonomic keyboard and mouse for Mac as they make the experience far more comfortable. The keyboard especially is meant to be slick in gaming situations where Macs often let people down. Remember that the more comfortable you are, the more fun you will have.

An extensive data plan

Using 4G or 5G technology can often improve the user experience for Apple gamers. Of course, this means turning off the WiFi and switching to mobile data. Once you do this, you are in the lap of the gods regarding your monthly bill. Dedicated gamers might find it cheaper to upgrade their plan to save them money rather than paying extra at the end of every month. You can swap minutes and texts for data to avoid unnecessary charges.

Are you a gaming fan? Do you use Apple devices? Hopefully, these features should improve your experience and help Apple transition into a player in the gaming fraternity.
